Happy women’s day! Today and every single day we celebrate you all incredible women. Shine on!

It’s Beauty Tuesday and we are exploring our scents. You can wear a specific fragrance on its own or even layer to your liking. Here are the major categories of perfume:

  1. Citrus: These are normally crisp and clean and very refreshing especially on a hot day. Lemon, orange and grapefruit scents fall under this category.
  2. Gourmand: Familiar scents; sweet in smell. Chocolate, vanilla, caramel are some examples of gourmand scents.
  3. Floral: These are feminine and romantic scents. Inspired by flowers, they can range in intensity from subtle to strong. Examples include; rose, jasmine and violet.
  4. Spicy: Aromatic fragrances inspired by spices such as cardamon, clove, cinnamon and incense. They last longer on the skin as the molecules are denser.
  5. Woody: These scents are characterized by smelling like the outdoors inspired by materials like trees, resin, leaves, bark, bushes as well as roots. They are rich, warm and elegant.
  6. Aquatic: Fragrances are inspired by oceanic notes; sea air, algae and sea salts.
  7. Fruity: These range from playful to sophisticated inspired by fruits such as pear, watermelon and mango.

There you have it, the seven categories of scents. It is also important to store your fragrance away from direct heat, light and strong breeze to keep them from going bad prematurely.
