Happy Thursday! We hope the new month is going well for you. Today we share our five favorite ingredients and why. Enjoy!
1. Eggs: How many recipes come to mind when we mention eggs? So many, right? From basic fried eggs to decadent cakes, eggs are an absolute kitchen staple. They are rich in multiple nutrients; proteins, vitamins, minerals, good fats and iron.

2. Nuts and seeds: These are rich in healthy fats, protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals. Nuts also have a long shelf life, from 1 – 4 months, meaning you can stock and restock as need be. Nuts and seeds are great as snacks especially if you are conscious about healthy eating as well as weight loss as they are filling. They are great in recipes as well. You’ll absolutely love our peanut-lemon coconut cake.
3. Spices and herbs: These take the flavor of dishes to the next level. From cinnamon to oregano, ginger to rosemary spices also have nutritional health benefits as may help reduce inflammation and lower your risk of certain diseases.

4. Yogurt: Yogurt is very refreshing on its own and adds a very interesting twist to recipes. Try our indulgent lemon-yogurt cake. Full-fat yogurt is high in nutrients and has great health benefits as well. It may protect against heart disease and the development of belly fat, which is a risk factor for many conditions, including diabetes.
5. Fruits and vegetables: These are rich in vitamins such as Vitamins, A (beta-carotene), C and E. They are also rich in minerals such as magnesium, zinc, phosphorous and folic acid. Eaten as a snack, raw, cooked and even incorporated in recipes, fruits and vegetables are definitely a staple in our kitchen. Here is a hearty chicken salad recipe to try!
