Saturday reflections: Taking it a day at a time

Happy Saturday! Glad that the weekend is here with us and we get to sleep in a little more and relax. Today, we are all about taking it a day at a time. How can we effectively do this?

  1. Accept and appreciate the day for what it is: It is important to fully live in the moments that make each day. Be present in each moment and take it in. Accept what is happening in that moment, even if it’s not very pleasant and do the best you can each day.
  2.  Live life, a step at a time: If you look further ahead into life you will not be able to enjoy it as you can’t even control its happenings. Take it an hour at a time and you will realize how conscious you will be of your time. This will ultimately increase your productivity and joy.
  3. You can try again tomorrow: If things never went as planned and you feel as if you let yourself down, pat yourself on the back. Forgive and be kind to yourself. You are human, it’s okay to make mistakes. You can do it again, tomorrow.
  4.  Exercise self-care: This might be as simple as going to bed and getting a good night’s sleep. It is very important to take good care of ourselves; you can’t pour from an empty cup.
  5. Stop worrying about the future:  It’s normal for us to be concerned about the future but worrying won’t change anything. If anything, worrying drains our energy and steals from the joy of today. “Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” Matthew 6:27.
