Fashion myths debunked

Happy Friday! What haven’t you been wearing just because it ‘should not be worn.’ Well, today we are debunking some fashion myths.

Myth 1: You can’t wear oversized clothes on oversized clothes. That is absolutely not true. The secret here though is to ensure you match the colourways. For example, work with neutral shades to still look polished and complement with accessories such as a classy bag and earrings.

Myth 2: Sequins or shiny clothes should strictly be worn at night: You can now rock sequins during the day, monochrome or in different colours.

Myth 3: You should only wear matching prints: Clashing prints look amazing. If you are uncertain, you can start with the same print eg a blouse with big polka dots and pants with small polka dots. You can experiment with different colours later on. Have fun with the different prints; polka dots, animal print, plaid print etc

Myth 4: You can’t mix metals: This has to be one of the oldest myths. You can begin with a silver necklace and gold earrings. If you are into rings, layer eg silver and gold rings together. However, don’t mix more than two metals, it will look tacky.
