There is so much happening around us, decisions to be made, things to do, society’s expectations, other people’s opinions, therefore we need to be anchored. Trusting God helps us see things clearly as we listen to His voice through the Word and the conviction of the Holy Spirit. God is always in our corner always ready to help us and give us strength to live the life He has called us to live. Deuteronomy 31:8, “The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” With such reassuring words from our Father, we can have the courage to put our trust in Him, leaning on Him as He will never fail us.
Here are some benefits of trusting in God:
- He will direct your paths: God has a wonderful plan for our lives and all we have to do is to trust Him fully and obey Him. Remember the Sunday School song that goes, “Trust and obey, for there is no other way, to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey,” That’s all we need to do.
- The battle belongs to the Lord: God will help you through anything and everything. He will fight your battles and give you victory. Only, be still. No weapon fashioned against you shall prosper.
- You can count on God: Whatever you face in life, now and in the future, you can always count on God. God is all powerful, He created the universe, He controls everything and nothing is too hard for Him. You can rest in knowing that truth.
- He can comfort you: God is our Father, comfort and hiding place. Tell Him everything and let Him comfort you and give you peace. His Love is everlasting. “God’s love for us is so wide and deep,” Ephesians 3:18, no hurt He can’t reach. God gives us strength and courage to soldier on.
- God will fulfil His promises: Those who trust in God shall not be disappointed. Believe in God and hold onto His Word. His promises will surely come to pass.
God is faithful and loves us beyond measure. He is concerned about the detail of our lives; “And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows. .” Luke 12:7. He cares for such intricate detail, what is too hard for Him? Enter His rest by trusting Him today.
Prayer: Thank you Lord for your Love for me. Thank you that you care for the details of my life. Help me to trust you today with everything that concerns me. I know that nothing is too hard for you. I choose to enter your rest as I trust you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
